About Me
Hello, my name is Ethan. I am a high school student from Prosper High. For 4 years I have always known that my passion lies within the field of computer science. In the past three years, I have delved into the world of data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, fields that continue to inspire me. I believe that AI/ML is my vocation, and I want to continue to explore concepts in the field.
The main reason I enjoy creating these AI ML models are it’s abilities to solve real world problems, its immediate impact, and making everyone’s life’s better. AI is a powerful tool for automation. AI opens the door to create interesting and innovative projects that benefit the society while quenching my passion for computer science. I wish to learn further about different types of models and their use cases so that the I can make an immediate impact.
Skills
- Interests: Machine Learning, Data Science, AI
- Languages: Python and Java
- Libraries: Tensorflow, Keras, Numpy, Matplotlib, Pandas, OpenCV, BeautifulSoup, Streamlit, Requests, Google’s Generative AI API
- Tools: GitHub, Firebase, Kaggle, Visual Studios Code
Objectives
I wish to improve conditions in underdeveloped areas around the world. Through core-peripheral relations, neocolonialism, and material exploitation the majority of countries struggle against poverty, insufficient infrastructure and many other issues. In 2012, the United Nations declared the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, many of which seek to resolve economic disparities between core and peripheral countries. My aim is to provide means to stimulate economic prosperity and thus reducing global economic inequalities. The United States is one of the most developed countries in the world and it is imperative that we, as world citizens, should aim to improve conditions everywhere.
Additionally, another objective in my projects are the needs of my fellow students. As a high school student myself, I understand the issues many of my peers encounter from handwritten notes and complex topics. Assistive tools such as automatic notes and interactive study tools work for the betterment of many problems faced by young learners.
Experience
I have been programming for 5 years, predominantly in Python. I have employed my programming skills in a combination of in-person and online hackathons such as Hack the Ram 2022 & 2024, Hack NA 2024, Shady Hacks 2024, EMP Hackfest 2025, MEGA Hackathon 2025, and EMP WildHacks 2026.
In 2024-2026, I was honored with several awards for my projects in Hackathons.
- The Best Presentation & Idea award in WildHacks 2026.
- The Impact Award in Shady Hacks 2024
- 3rd place in Hack the Ram 2024
In 2022-2025, I completed 4 different science fair projects in PRSEF, PJAS, and DRSEF.
- In 2022, I was awarded 1st place in the junior physics category at PRSEF
- In 2023: 2nd place in the senior physics category at PRSEF and 1st Place at PJAS
- In 2024 3rd place in the senior behavioral science category and 1st in PJAS, as well as a perfect score and the director’s award, the highest possible distinction.
In my 2024 & 2025 projects, I specifically focused on computer science and machine learning
- In 2024, my project involved the use of python to construct a model to predict sleep length based on screen usage
- In 2025, I utilized CNN architecture to accurately predict deepfakes.
In 2023 & 2024, I was the captain of my FLL robotics team in which my team and I constructed a robot to complete tasks in an allotted time and identified and provided a solution for a global issue.
- In 2023, we were awarded 3rd for our solution and 6th in our robot’s performance
- In 2024, we received 2nd for our solution and 3rd for robot performance, allowing us to advance to the State competition
- In 2024 specifically, we were the first in our regional competition to switch to python instead of conventional block programming to instruct our robot.
